Tracie DiMaio

When Tracie first started her own yoga journey, her intention was to lose weight. However, she received much more than her initial weight loss – her whole life began to shift into a new found passion. She signed up for a teacher training to expand her knowledge and soon after taught her first class on her 45th birthday.

Primary to Tracie's teaching of yoga is establishing a non-competitive and compassionate environment. She helps her students learn how to be in their own bodies, to love themselves for what they can do, and is dedicated to assisting her students to grow into lifetime yogis, fully aware of the powerful mind and body connection.

Tracie also provides private lessons and special workshops including Yoga Nidra, Yoga For Chronic Pain, and learning about the inner practices of yoga. Having dealt with severe cases of vertigo as a result of Ménière’s Disease, she is well able to recognize the gift of yoga to help with her life challenges, creating in her great empathy for others.

Among the teachers who have most influenced Tracie over the years are Kim Valeri, Shiva Rhea, Cindy Lee, Rod Stryker and Gabrielle Bernstein. She continues her education by attending Kripalu Yoga Center annually, in addition to Yoga Journal conferences.

Aside from yoga, Tracie is a professional Licensed Optician. Married, with 3 grown sons, she also has an 8-year-old grandson who lights up her life. She enjoys spending time with her family and spiritual retreats because they are both joyful and rejuvenating.
